Nebraska licenses PIs through the Nebraska Secretary of State under Neb. Rev. Stat. §71-3201 et seq. Applicants must be 21+, demonstrate three years of experience, pass an examination, and post a surety bond.

Physical Surveillance

Public surveillance is permitted. Nebraska's stalking statute (Neb. Rev. Stat. §28-311.02-04) constrains intrusive conduct. GPS tracking on a non-owned vehicle is risky.

Audio & Video Recording Consent

Nebraska is a one-party-consent state under Neb. Rev. Stat. §86-290. The recording party must be a participant.

Domestic, Marital & Infidelity Investigations

Nebraska is a no-fault divorce state. Marital misconduct rarely affects property division. PIs document patterns. Accessing a spouse's accounts may violate Neb. Rev. Stat. §28-1343 (computer crime).
